Asia was long associated with the manufacture of goods sold elsewhere, but global business imperatives have enabled it to play an expanding role in the development of those products. Those same imperatives are now pushing companies (such as Microsoft) to rely on virtual teams that span the globe for the early user research and design of products sold to a global audience.
