A design brief, also often called a creative brief, is the most essential ingredient for any major design project. However, it is often one of the least understood documents among the various stakeholders involved in a design project.
A well-crafted brief can actually shorten the time it takes to execute the design process, and also make the process of having a design solution approved much easier. Who should “own” or take accountability for a design brief? Do I need to develop a design brief for every design project? What is the primary reason for being of a design brief? Should it be a living document that is updated frequently? These are only a few of the questions about design briefs which are fully addressed in this highly popular seminar.
Instructor Peter L. Phillips will share his extensive knowledge and experience with this subject in a highly interactive seminar. Attendees will receive a copy of Peter’s book, Creating the Perfect Design Brief, the first (and to date only) comprehensive body of knowledge on the subject.
What you will learn:
Who is accountable for the development of a brief
What role do the many stakeholders in a design project play in the development of the brief
When is a design brief necessary—and when is it not necessary
The role of business strategy, as well as design strategy, in a design brief
What are the most critical elements in a useful design brief
How to use the brief throughout the entire design process
Who should attend:
This seminar is ideal for both in-house and design agency design managers.
How you will benefit:
Understanding how to develop a well-crafted design brief can stimulate creative thinking, shorten the time necessary to complete a design project, and practically guarantee quick approval of a design solution.
