Our most recent round of events was Fall 2012. With over 1,800 registrants and eight DMI Night Out events this fall in every corner of the globe from Melbourne to Bangalore and Hamburg to Istanbul to Seattle to Sydney to San Diego, DMI members are spreading the word and sharing great ideas.

Insights from May Events

In May, 700 participants gathered in 11 cities on five continents for the second round of DMI's extremely popular Night Out series. Despite the diverse and far-flung nature of the events, they were all united under the common topic of "Inspiring Design Entrepreneurship." The wealth of experience and talent of the local DMI communities inspires and encourages more face-to-face connections in our virtual world. Insights from February 2012 Events

WHAT IS A DMI NIGHT OUT?

Launched in February 2012 in response to our members desire to connect more locally. These quarterly events are hosted by local DMI members and provide a source of support and partnership for today’s critical issues, connecting cross-disciplinary design and business leaders in their local communities, then sharing these global insights with the entire DMI community on the DMI website following the events.

DMI’s first events, held in the mid-1970s at a Boston bar, grew from a small group of Design Managers confessing the challenges they were facing in their roles, and sharing solutions, methods and empathies over a few beers. DMI Night Out continues this tradition of like-minded people sharing their knowledge around current issues facing design leaders.
